Martial Arts Woodbridge VA| Increase Kids Confidence

Curing Sedentary Lifestyle with Martial Arts in Woodbridge, VA

There is a time tested remedy to a sedentary lifestyle in Woodbridge, VA, "get into martial arts at a young age and plant the seeds for the future." Martial Arts, especially the arts of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Thai Boxing, are two of the most effective and fun ways for kids to enjoy themselves outside of video gaming. Common sense will tell you that too much TV and video game addiction doesn't promote a healthy lifestyle in the real world. Yes it can be fun, and yes it may serve as a baby sitter for several hours a day when we're busy trying to make a living.

How long will you wait?

How long can we sit back and watch our kids miss out on the type of childhood we had, playing hard and learning how to deal with individual challenges (physical and mental) and occasionally a few "lumps and bumps" along the way.

In the real world, there isn't a reset button.  Every day we hear more and more about our nation's youth growing up, still struggling to deal with the trials of adulthood.  Many resort to virtual reality and needless medications (or drug abuse) to forget about their problems for a while.  But the game doesn’t start over; we can’t just spawn again and become another character.  We have to live with every decision we’ll ever make, and while the kids are still under our care, there are many decisions they’ll never make on their own without our help and guidance.

A Different World

No question about it, the world in which we live today, especially in places like Woodbridge, Dale City in and around Northern Virginia, is much different and access to addictive technology involving violence has never been greater.  While the computer age is upon us, we can't neglect physical activity.  Kids today need that opportunity to develop themselves and develop a skill set that will give them confidence.  Confidence will enable them to communicate effectively and convincingly.  Kids who play and train around other confident kids will grow a sense of competitiveness that’s needed in professional life.

“As our nation’s youth become more and more absorbed into the technology culture, they drift farther and farther away from achieving personable skills. This comes in many forms, one being a lack of self-confidence when communicating face to face with others", says Mr. Tray.

At Trident Academy of Martial Arts, we are very involved with our kids that train here.  We dedicate more instructors to our kids classes than any other program we offer.  We have always existed to change lives in a positive way, pointing kids in the right direction and looking out for their future.  After 15 years, we've seen so many of our youth develop into well prepared young men and women, ready to take on future challenges.  It's awesome to see them go off to school and come back telling us about lessons learned and how they miss it here.  Some of the best memories can be made while training martial arts.

No Time Like The Present

Make the decision now to get your child started on a journey that lasts a lifetime.  Let's work together to set up our kids for  success and get them ready for real life.  Don't put it off , if you live in Northern VA, call us or fill out our form so you can try out our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or Thai Boxing classes, absolutely free!  Don't settle for anything less than expert instructors dedicated to kids on and off the mat.  If you aren't in Northern Virginia, give us a call anyway and we will help you find some of our dedicated friends in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Thai Boxing community. Best wishes to you and your family from Pat Tray and the staff at Trident Martial Arts.

  1. […] Academy of Martial Arts, we have witnessed the majority of our students increase in levels of self-confidence that rival the intensity of the common bully, only in the positive, not the negative, respectfully. […]
